The sumptuous Wessex Distinctive Chesterfield

We are not referring to Cerdic the king of Wessex around 519 AD but the wonderful looking and sumptuous Distinctive Chesterfield of that name. The all important frame is manufactured by hand from sustainable hardwoods by our time served craftsmen using methods that have been tried and tested over time, fixing with dowelled and screw methods only. On completion in our joinery shop the frame is then fully sprung before this is sent for the important upholstery. With loose filled cushions, which are well stuffed, and with its classic brass castors, the Wessex is beginning to look like a Distinctive Chesterfield sofa.

Leather covering is the final component and it is here that you the customer can put your own personal stamp on the finished item. By choosing from our Signature range we can upholster and polish in literally any stain, fabric or leather, either specified by you with colour or pattern matched to a sample. However many of our customers prefer this leather sofa in our premium leather range and we believe it compliments it well in black.

An antique classic - The Queen Anne Leather Sofa

Beautifully hand finished in our classic Antique Gold Leather the Distinctive Chesterfields Queen Anne sofa or club chair represents an absolute timeless classic piece of leather furniture. This antique classic will look good in any setting, but can you imagine it in the corner of a room next to a cosy fire on a winter’s night?

The queen Anne range of furniture from Distinctive Chesterfields comprises a two or a three seater settee, a scroll wing chair and a matching footstool. Although we have suggested that this leather chair looks particularly good in Antique Gold Leather, our three leather finishes can fitted to these, and the full range of colours is available to compliment your room or style of home. The Queen Anne range is styled with a high leg, high back design with all the way studded wings and hand studded facings. The cushions are hand stuffed as standard although foamed cushions are available.

Distinctive club chairs

There is something about one of the Distinctive Chesterfield Club Chairs that say that I am special and extremely comfortable. This classic piece of leather furniture is synonymous with London Gentleman’s clubs, five star hotel receptions and embassies throughout the world. There are many styles of club chair to be seen at the Distinctive Chesterfields showroom from which you can choose.

A firm favourite is the Derby Chesterfield which is based on the classic chesterfield shape reminiscent of a sofa at the turn of the nineteenth century. The Derby has a hand sprung buttoned based back fitted to a hand crafted solid hardwood frame constructed from beech, all screwed and doweled in common with all Distinctive Chesterfield furniture products. The Derby club chair can be finished in the three distinctive styles of leather with the full range of colours offered.

Should the Derby not fit into your style of home, or you prefer something which is more modern looking, Distinctive Chesterfields, with a total of fifteen differing club chairs, will have something that meets your requirements.

A curved beauty; the Stafford Leather Sofa

With the elegant slope of the arm line which seamlessly blends into a crested back you cannot miss the individual look of this beautiful Distinctive Chesterfield. We compliment this by a shallow sprung back with deep rolled pleats, and we hand stuff the cushions ensuring an even and comfortable feel and look. Hard nailed brass studs to the front of the arms give a distinctive look to the Stafford Leather Chesterfield, and easy roll brass castors add a finishing touch to the modern looking piece of furniture.

We naturally can offer all the range of leather for the sofa, but premium leather in one of the lighter colours seems to suit this chesterfield, complimenting its modern look. The Stafford sofa range can be made to your requirement as a two, three, or four seater sofa, and club chairs and footstools can be supplied, either at the time of manufacture or at a later date to suit your convenience.

Simple aftercare for your Chesterfield sofa

Your Distinctive Chesterfield was made with tender care by time served craftsmen and we want it to look as good in the years ahead as it did when it left our workshops. You do not want your leather to dry out prematurely so try not to place it next to hot radiators as an example. Never use abrasive materials as these will damage the finish, nor leave denim on aniline leathers as the colours may well run off and always regularly dust your chesterfield sofa or club chair, reducing the ingress of grime, treating the leather with one of our approved leather clean and feed products.

Naturally your leather will over time age and you will see it form its own patina, a characteristic of quality leather. You may notice colour variance on high traffic surfaces of the chair or sofa creases, and changes in suppleness of the surface leather. Sensible precautions will ensure that your leather sofa or club chair will continue to look good. Avoid studs on jeans and trousers, responsible for more scratches and damage than most others. Spilling wine and other such liquids can be problematic, but blotting the spill with a lint cloth and sponging off with warm water followed by leather feed and clean will minimise the effects.

Take care of your Distinctive Chesterfield and it will give you years of service and continue to look good.

This is what a Chesterfield should look like!

We have heard that so many times, that when someone sees our Lincoln range of Chesterfields and Club chairs we are just waiting for them to say it. There can be no doubt that the Lincoln Distinctive Chesterfield is an eye catching piece of furniture, more so when this is finished in our hand dyed leather in a traditional colour such as mahogany.

The Lincoln sofa and club chair, with matching footstool is what can be regarded as how a chesterfield should look, and it is only when seen can this be really appreciated. As with many other things, a photograph does not do this classic chesterfield justice. This is the largest of our standard range of Chesterfield sofa and Club Chair and the hardwood frame which is a heavy set piece is the blueprint from which we start. With its deep buttoned seat with heavy springing, contoured mahogany feet reflecting a high stance, you will, as we do, regard the Lincoln as timeless item of furniture.

The special offer on the Carlisle consists of a three seater sofa, and two chairs, which can be a low backed or high backed type, or one of each if this is your preference.

The choice of Chesterfield for your hotel

Over many years we are proud to have supplied our Distinctive Chesterfield sofas and chairs to hotel and commercial premises, supplied to individually owned and well known groups. It is not for us to tell the purchaser which of our range is most suitable, but we have found that often the same style comes to the forefront.

Much will depend upon individual taste and the premises, but the Norfolk range is one that lends itself well to most environments and with its detailing and tight buttoning the Norfolk range with enhance any area, be this a commercial reception area or your own sitting room. Naturally the Norfolk Distinctive Chesterfield is available as a two, three, or four seater sofa with matching club chairs and footstools.

Our three styles of leather is of course available for the Norfolk range and although we have no particular preference, antique red leather has proved to be one of the most popular choices and suits this style well.
