The Suffolk is simply made for a hotel lobby or comfy bar area, but looks equally as good in a home setting. The Suffolk Chesterfield has slimline arms with a fully buttoned interior and is can be made as a two or three seat version. We can combine this with a number of low chairs, plus matching footstools if required, perfect for your living room.

Leather is a natural product which not only looks good, can be stained and hand finished to a variety of colours and types, but is a warm long lasting durable material, in fact it has been ideal for covering chairs, sofas, and other items for hundreds of years.

With the Derby we feature a stiff hand sprung and buttoned base and back, hand crafted on to a solid beech wood frame constructed carefully using only screws and dowels which is guaranteed to ensure a long trouble free life. We have used polished mahogany bun feet, further adding to the classical appearance of this chesterfield. Firstly we would hand craft the piece as normal to ensure that it meets all the standards of a Distinctive Chesterfield piece and the leather is then blacked with a special treatment which makes the whole of the hide appear very dark, in fact almost black, the frame is also treated in this way. Following on, one of our professional leather craftsmen would, using a special solution, rub the leather lightly to reveal the lighter colour below to replicate the look of a traditional, antique leather chesterfield or chair. Your piece of Distinctive Furniture is then sealed to ensure that the effect is not lost over time and the sofa or chair blends comfortably into its surroundings.

Starting with the all important frame, which is hand made by time-served frame makers using high grade materials, through to the leather finish which is from specially selected hides. This is finished and cut by trained leatherworkers, who have a keen eye for only the best quality leathers, all in our traditional workshops. If the Sofa or Chair is upholstered, this is undertaken by apprentice trained upholsterers, all masters in their field.
